Anivirus????

What's the best antivirus now on the market, and can i download it somewhere for free?

Anivirus????free spyware

For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir庐 PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than most "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. Uses less then 10 MB RAM on my machine. And did I mention that it's free for life! Works great on my Vista box, too.

Download here:

BTW, Avoid the free version of an anti-virus called AVG, it has horrible virus detection capibilities.

Enjoy!

Avira AntiVir PE Classic. It's a great free antivirus with excellent detection rates. It is also very light on resources and has great support on the Avira forums.
A Yahoo tech article answered this very question, and I've linked to that article below. Going with the most convenient, I'd pick Avast over AOL and the article will explain why.

Anti-virus for Nokia 3230..?

I have this nokia 3230, and i want to put an anti-virus in it. Where cani find a good sites that offer free downloads of anti-virus for mobile. And i've heard that some said we had to installed the antivirus in the internal memory, and not the external memory, so does this means that i have to download the antivirus through GPRS from my mobile.? The link below points to a similar question - the answer I've given to it has many pointers to anti-virus programs for Symbian S60 phones like Nokia 3230. The really good such programs (e.g., F-Secure's) aren't free, though.

What you have heard is not exactly true. Some AV programs for Symbian have to be installed in the main memory, yes - for instance, F-Secure's one of them. Others can be installed on the memory card, too. In any case, whether the program must be installed in a fixed place or whether the user is allowed to select where the program is to be installed, is reflected in the installation (SIS) file. It doesn't matter whether you receive this file via GPRS or install it from a file on your computer over USB cable.

Can anyone give me some insight and advice about these computer questions???

I have had to completely reinstall my operating system due to a virus...ugh. But I am pretty much updating every application and driver, however my hp pavilion dv4150us notebook (xp pro sp2)seems to have alot of tasks running in the task manager and folders/files that I don't know if I need? Maybe malware/spyware/virus? I have ran my norton antivirus numerous times, but nothing...Does anyone know of a good helpful free website (not microsoft) where I can find out what these files and drivers are for so I can delete the unnessary ones? Also if i have norton systemworks premier installed on my computer should I continue to have Windows Firewall on? Oh and What does microsoft.net framework do? Do I need this? And what does the group policy setting "NT Authority" for?

I cant give exact answer, but i suggest you use external task manager to see more comprehensive whats runnin.

Download dTaskManager from dimio.altervista.org then run it.

You may see ALL task runnin, some maybe virus, you can decide wheter it virus or not by lookin it address, if you sure it is unnormal, you can kill the task easily ( which default task manager cant).

You type this and read the explanation.
PC magaczine.com check for the free software from Panda good software there and its free
go to

it tells u common startup...one that should be there...and even does a scan for u 2 see if they are valid.

How do I sum up my "average" know-how about computers in my curriculum vitae?

Im just wondering how to put into words all the know-how that I have regarding computer when I compose my CV. I can use MS Word, PowerPoint, a little of Excel, I can do some tweaks on a Windows-based pc, im fairly familiar with IE7 and now exploring FireFox, I can install (free)security software on a friends pc and teach them how to use it(antivirus,antispyware,antirootkit,fir... All of these I came to know by myself using my home pc(no formal training) and by reading a lot of wonderful websites %26 forums. I dont know programming and unfamiliar with hardwares(I've never opened a pc). Now how do I sum them all up(short but impressive) in my CV? Being "computer literate" is a bit cliche for me. And, by the way, do you know of any free software I can download or website that can help me write a good looking CV(layout, theme, etc)?

How do I sum up my "average" know-how about computers in my curriculum vitae?house call

just say you are computer literate in basic computer skills

How do I sum up my "average" know-how about computers in my curriculum vitae?matchless

How about:

i have an excellent knowledge of microsoft packages and of the internet, i am quick and eager to develop my IT skills.

If you start your CV with a personal statement with this in, adding your other skills and qualifications, and then go onto education and work history after that, it should work. A good website to use where you can get free advice is http://www.thefullercv.com/partners.asp?... but you can also check out the Guardian homepage, there are more links on there, on how to create a good CV.
you could say you have a wide knowledge of computers but are willing to learn more
You could say that you have an adequate knowledge of computer systems and are comfortable with working with them, although your knowledge does not extend to a technical level.
working knowledge
Lie? That's what I'd do

First, my condolences about your reinstall. There are some people around here to whom reinstalling seems to be something they do often and without a second thought. I had to last September, and I also went through the reinstallation of all my other software. It took months before everything was back in order.

The general good advice about deleting things that don't seem to be doing anything worthwhile is a loud DON'T TOUCH THEM!

There is no absolute list of what's necessary because computers are so complicated. What might be useless on your machine could be critical on your wife's. We could draw up a list of things that are essential to every Windows XP machine, but it would soon bleed over into the "well, maybe" area.
