My computer is infected with "Security Toolbar 7.1", and it is promts:
1. system is infected with trojan-spy.win32@mx; and to download antispam softwares.
2. I am having full updates of norton antivirus... but it is unable to detect this trojan
3. I can not restore my computer in back date also.
4. There is no infrmation about this toolbar even in "add or remove programme" in control panel menu..
I am having original windows XP home edition and a licenced copy of norton antivirus.
i dont want to spent any more to remove this "Security toolbar 7.1"
Can anybody help me by telling the method to remove this spyware from my computer without spending money?
Please specify me any FREE removal tool or manual remove process.

I started to download a free trial of PCTOOLS for viruses (Ps. I also have spysweeper and trend micro antivirus / PC-cillin Antivirus, as well, already) and that's when all went wrong, it went from 90miles per hour to 5 miles per hour (just a figure of speech) so you know what happened, everything now takes very very very long time to down load or even to get to the next page such as yahoo.com and others. Is there a tool out there that anyone can tell me and find out what exactly went wrong with my PC, such a fix my computer problem or find the problem. Please help!! It probably slowed down your computer, because it is scanning for viruses. I don't have this problem with Norton Anti-virus. Could it be that you need to uninstall one of the virus protection that you already have?
Did you reboot after you install the trial. I would also check to see if you need to do an defragment and delete your temp files. Also, check to see how much hard drive you have used. I know the more you have used, the slower your computer will get when there isn't enough room on your disk.
But I figure that all your other stuff is working against each other and you need to pick one or the other.
I have installed symantec antivirus version 10 in my pc. Today in the noon I found that there were three trojan horses which caught by auto protection. They are Trojan.pandex!inf, backdoor.trojan, and trojan.dropper. I've deleted the files containing these threats cuz they were either cleaned or quarantined. But after then also adwares are there in my pc and continuously flashing off for free scan or either for security softwares. I know that this is fake cuz before also I have encountered with these security risks but this time I don't know what to do. I have updated all the virus definition files and scanned my whole computer but nothing was found after that auto protection. Can I use norton antispyware with symantec antivirus? I know that we can use antispyware with antivirus but this symantec antivirus also catches spywares and adwares. So it can be possible that they both each other can crash my protection. It is also the fact that, that trojan is inactive, attacks afteractivation

Ok so Like, I got windows Xp SP2, and i like the new addition to the security center, but i have a minor problem, eveything else os OK. except my virus protection!! my firewall is set ON, My automatic updates are set to ON, but what about my virus protection?? for some reason, its "saying not monitored", I know i have an antivirus on, i use norton antivirus 2003! i know its set to on, but it still wont put it on the ON position. With AVG free edition however, the status was ON!! but for some reason, it doesnt wanna be ON with norton antivurus 2003, WHY????
I even set it to ON, and restarted the computer, but it still says
"NOT MONITERED"

2k3 is your problem. Windows will not pick up on a/v older than a few months to what your system clock is. 2k3 is WAY WAY WAY out of date. Toss norton and get AVAST or AVG (google and ye shall find) both are free and both do a damn fine job.

Im trying to download the free anti-virus software, but an error keeps appearing...I have uninstalled the CA AntiVirus and Im having trouble installing the Norton AntiVirus.
I contacted AT %26 T Yahoo about this and they said to go to Windows onecare.live.com and sign up for the free 90 day trial because the changeover from CA to Norton is completely screwed up!

I have had to completely reinstall my operating system due to a virus...ugh. But I am pretty much updating every application and driver, however my hp pavilion dv4150us notebook (xp pro sp2)seems to have alot of processes running in the task manager and folders/files that I don't know if I need? Maybe malware/spyware/virus? I have ran my norton antivirus numerous times, but nothing...Does anyone know of a good helpful free website (not microsoft) where I can find out what these files and drivers are for so I can delete the unnessary ones? Also if i have norton systemworks premier installed on my computer should I continue to have Windows Firewall on? Oh and What does microsoft.net framework do? Do I need this? And what does the group policy setting "NT Authority" for?
