Last year my computer was very slow and a co-worker helped me and said it was a spyware, but he installed a windows xp professional not licensed. Now my computer is very slow and doesn't start at all. The only way I can make it to run is on safe mode with network. I think part of the problem is the unlicensed windows. I also run CA antivirus which is free with Time warner but it took 1 day to finish scaning and it turn off itself. please help me

you can get an external harddrive or something simmilar to back up all your files/music/videos/games ext. and do a destructive recovery on your pc. it will restore it to the settings of when you first bought your pc. it will take you a few hours to get all your updates back, then put your files back on from external hard drive. hope this helps\

i use adaware for adware and spybot for spyware. both are free downloads off download.com and are good.

also useing window washer once a week helps wonders, its also a free d-load

it is most likely that microsoft have found out that you have a unlicenced version and blocked full funtionalty in a bid to get you to get a licenced version if i may say so i think you should get a licenced version before they take you to court for theft

One day, I got a message through bluetooth from one of my friends, who was some steps away. I installed it and seeing no effect, I uninstalled it. Since then, my phone keeps sending MMSs to no.s randomly from contact list with the subjects like 'Free Sex', 'Porn Images','Norton Antivirus' and 'WWW Cracker'etc. I have tried formatting the MMC, where I installed it, but all in vain.(And my friend told me that he also got a message through bluetooth from me but he didn't install it. And some other people also told me the same thing.) How can I get rid of this virus?

The worst thing happens when we accept a message from a stranger. However if you have a warranty give it to the phone provider for check up, but as the first one said. Reset your phone. if you don't know how to do it there should be a button for reseting or an option saying restore factory setup.

It also happened to my cousin's cellphone. He keeps on receiving MMS and Blue-tooth attempting to connect with his phone. He also receives complaints from his friends who are in his phone book (including me) that he keeps on sending texts and MMS messages. The phone company advise him to go to a Nokia service center or whatever brand your cel is and reformat the cellphone software. It actually worked and they advised that always check your blue-tooth connection if it is disabled after using it because it is the main cause of cellphone virus infections. I hope this helps.

Why???Norton by all accounts is a resource hog (will slow down your computer) and there are some good free ones out there. I use CA but everyone says AVG is good too.

I have Windows XP with the free version of PC TOOLS ANTIVIRUS on it but i recently downloading the vista translation and its works fine and I love it but i am concerned aboutn any virus should I unintall it or no or should I just go out and pay 100 dollars for the updated version of Vista someone help I also like the translation because I can keep my cameras and things like that ect.

I would not recommend upgrading to Vista. We may all have to one day, but for now, stick with XP.

My college offers a free professional version of Norton Antivirus and it didn't find any viruses on the Windows partition of my MacBook. I used Apple's Boot Camp 1.2b to install Windows and so far so good. I used ClamXav on my Mac OS X partition and it found five instances of "AdWare.BHO-2". Since the partition is NTFS, I can't do anything to the Windows partition from within OS X. What should I do to remove these supposed virus detections?

I recommend you stay away from the new version of AVG unless you have no firewall.The new version has a FW and it wreaks havoc. I used AVG for years and got rid of it this year because they packaged the software. You get what you pay for and AVG free works like a free software.

Try running Ad-Aware instead but you may just have conflicting software that is being recognized as a threat.
